Mental Gems is a charity that gears towards the youth and homeless, preparing them for success short-term and long-term. Recent projects include the poetry nights I developed and hosted at Higher Limits, that raised a little over $160 in donatable funds plus food donations, to provide targeted people with proper clothing during the seasons and basic necessities for personal hygiene practice. Donations were made by entry fees of $6 (5 to the lounge, 1 for donations) or $5 and a food donation per person. Donations were given personally on a respectful level and to The Downtown Mission of Windsor, Ontario.
